50 Cent fails to block Bryce Hall's film Skillhouse as court denies preliminary injunction
Rapper and producer 50 Cent has lost a bid to prevent the release of the upcoming horror film Skillhouse, starring Bryce Hall. A federal judge denied his request for a preliminary injunction on July 3, 2025, allowing the movie to proceed toward its scheduled July 11 premiere. In April, 50 Cent's production company, NYC Vibe, filed a lawsuit against Skillhouse's producers—including Ryan Kavanaugh, Skill House Movie LLC, and GenTV LLC—claiming the film used his name, image, voice, and likeness without a signed agreement or compensation. Skillhouse, directed by Josh Stolberg, combines horror with social media satire and showcases a cast of influencers, including Bryce Hall and Paige VanZant . Produced by 50 Cent, Neal McDonough, and others, the film was shot in 2022 and gained attention for its intense scenes and influencer cast. The ruling allows Skillhouse to proceed to theaters while the lawsuit continues. If 50 Cent appeals, the film's future could shift, but for now, fans and critics alike await its debut despite the controversy.

Ramsey joins Mexico's Pumas UNAM after Cardiff City exit
MEXICO CITY, July 3 (Reuters) - Wales captain Aaron Ramsey has joined Mexican side Pumas UNAM as a free agent, following a two-year stint at his boyhood club Cardiff City, the Liga MX team announced on Thursday. The former Arsenal and Juventus midfielder signed a one-year contract with Pumas after briefly stepping in as Cardiff interim manager before the club's relegation to League One in April. "I'm very excited, at a good point in my career to move forward. I know what the expectations are for this club and I'm here to do my part and help in any way I can," the 34-year-old Ramsey said at his presentation. "I'm excited about this new challenge and surrounded by good players." Ramsey, who shares an agent with Pumas head coach Efrain Juarez, has made it clear he wants to continue competing at the top level and is eyeing a leading role with Wales at the 2026 World Cup. "I have had a lot of experience in my career and that obviously puts me in a good position," Ramsey added. "I want to contribute in my role and achieve the objectives we have set for this season. There are things to be excited about and I am looking forward to this challenge." Pumas will play a friendly match against Spanish side Leganes on Sunday before kicking off their Apertura campaign on July 12 when they visit Santos Laguna. Ramsey is also expected to feature in the team's upcoming CONCACAF Champions Cup campaign.

Excerpts from the book, now going viral on social media, capture the journey of BTS's youngest member, Jeon Jungkook, and how he's become an unstoppable force. Kim believes the singer's charisma and popularity go beyond his label's heavy push, and that he's only getting started. In the book, Kim also breaks down a chapter where three brands were chasing him for endorsements and recalls what went down during a 2016 concert, when Jungkook, completely exhausted and gasping for air, still insisted on performing because he didn't want to let his fans down. This comes amid buzz that Jungkook might be heading out on a solo world tour soon. 'There lies the reason behind Jungkook's punishing work ethic: his devotion to his fans and the desire to repay the love he has been given,' Kim wrote. Fans have been calling it one of the most painful chapters in the book, as it describes moments where the youngest member pushed himself way past the limit, all to give that love back in the only way he knew: hard work. 'He's said it sooo many times. In his Golden concert, in his lives. JK always credits his success to ARMY and wants to repay us. I worry he gives too much power to the ARMY and lets that dictate his choices. We don't know what he sees online. I just wish people would stop projecting their wants onto him and just appreciate his effort,' one fan commented. Another added, 'In no way should this be romanticised. NY Giants Standout Gushes Over Rookie QB Jaxson Dart

Though the latter won't be hitting the field right away, his teammates are already starting to rally behind him. Dart has turned heads in his early days with the Giants, which could be seen as a blessing and a curse. This bodes well for him being able to take over the reins at QB in the future, but could also create early competition between him and Russell Wilson. After signing a one-year deal with the Giants in free agency, the veteran will assume the starting position to start the season. Since minicamp, countless members of the Giants have spoken out about Dart and his abilities. Among the most recent to do so was running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. While appearing on Good Morning Football, he touched on how confident the first-round pick has looked in his early days in the pros. The versatile RB is coming off an impressive rookie campaign where he put his name in the same breath as Saquon Barkley. Last season, he became just the second Giants rookie running back to break 1,000 yards from scrimmage. Tracy finished the 2024 campaign with 839 yards and five touchdowns on the ground to go with 284 receiving yards. Why staffing cuts to national parks could pose safety concerns for summer visitors
Assateague Island, Maryland — The shoreline of Maryland's Assateague Island is a familiar place for surfer Zack Tyndall. A former firefighter paramedic, Tyndall often helped beachgoers there — but now, as the mayor of nearby Berlin, Maryland, he says safety isn't guaranteed. "I don't want to see anybody drown," Tyndall told CBS News. "We had saves where we were able to bring people out, and we had some where we weren't able to, and that's my biggest fear here on the island." The 37-mile-long Assateague Island is shared by both Maryland and Virginia. Each year, millions of people visit the Assateague Island National Seashore in Maryland, which is managed by the National Park Service. However, this summer, visiting families are also seeing shuttered lifeguard towers and signs warning that no lifeguards are on duty. CBS News asked the Park Service about the staffing situation on Assateague Island, but the agency did not directly respond to those questions – instead, saying in a statement that lifeguard shortages are a "nationwide concern even outside of our public lands. Many communities and cities across the country are experiencing a lifeguard shortage below ideal levels. Visitors have always had access to unguarded beaches and guarded beaches even after lifeguards leave for the day. We appreciate the public's understanding and cooperation as we work to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all." The Trump administration laid off about 1,000 NPS employees in February as part of its push, led by the White House's Department of Government Efficiency, to enact large-scale personnel and budgetary cuts across the federal government. President Trump also enacted a hiring freeze on federal permanent civilian employees immediately after taking office, which has impacted the Park Service. That hiring freeze has since been extended to July 15. "This was a policy put into place by DOGE and the current Trump administration that led to a complete hiring freeze on all hiring across the National Park Service," Ed Stierli, Mid-Atlantic region senior director of the National Parks Conservation Association, an independent Park Service advocacy group, told CBS News. According to analysis released this week by the Conservation Association, the Park Service has lost 24% of its permanent staff since Mr. Trump took office in January. The analysis also determined that about 4,500 seasonal positions have been filled, including lifeguards, well under the 7,700 seasonal positions NPS earlier this year said it was aiming to fill. "The reason there are no lifeguards at Assateague is honestly a symptom of the chaos and dysfunction that has been impacting this agency since the beginning of this administration," Stierli said. A Trump administration official told CBS News that all fire, law enforcement and public facing NPS personnel are prioritized to remain in place. Tyndall, meanwhile, is just hoping for a safe summer in Maryland. "Every day that we don't have a lifeguard here on the beach is putting every one of these swimmers, every one of our local residents, everybody that comes to visit Assateague Island, in jeopardy," Tyndall said. And the situation could get worse with the proposed budget for fiscal year 2026, which calls for the Interior Department to cut more than $1 billion to the National Park Service, the largest such cut in its history.
